Role Overview

We’re looking for a motivated, enthusiastic individual to support our team across marketing, communications, and social value activity. You’ll gain hands‑on experience, work with supportive colleagues, and build skills that will set you up for a successful future.
As our Marketing & Communications Apprentice, you’ll get involved in a wide range of activities—from social media and content creation to internal communications and community engagement. You’ll learn how a modern marketing function operates and contribute to meaningful projects from day one.
Key Responsibilities
With structured training and day‑to‑day support:
Social Media & Digital Marketing
Support the day-to-day running of company social media channels
Assist with creating and scheduling posts
Monitor comments and messages, escalating where needed
Help with paid social activity by supporting setup and reviewing results
Assist in maintaining the content calendar
Support tracking performance and learning how to interpret results
Content Creation & Website
Assist with developing case studies for the website
Support gathering content from teams, including photos and updates
Help create blogs, articles, and employee spotlights
Assist with writing captions, email copy, and simple marketing content
Support basic design tasks (e.g. Canva) and simple video editing
Help update website content
Internal Communications
Assist with drafting internal communications
Help promote internal events, volunteering, and updates
Support newsletters and internal messaging
Learn how to maintain consistent tone and branding
Campaigns & Marketing Support
Support the delivery of marketing campaigns
Assist with coordinating content and timelines alongside the team
Help promote events, milestones, and company updates
Contribute ideas and learn campaign planning processes
Social Value & Community Engagement
Support promotion of social value and volunteering activities
Assist with capturing content from community events
Help gather basic information for reporting
Attend activities where possible to support the team
General Responsibilities
Work with different teams to help gather content
Support maintaining brand consistency across materials
Assist with presentations and marketing materials
Help organise marketing assets (images, videos, templates)
Learn about industry activity and marketing trends
Skills and experience:
You don’t need prior experience – we’re looking for the right attitude and aptitude:
Good communication skills (written and verbal)
Interest in marketing, communications, and social media
Willingness to learn and develop new skills
Positive, proactive, and organised approach
Ability to work with others and follow guidance
Basic Microsoft Office skills
Entry Requirements are Grade 4 or above in English and Maths (equivalate to a grade C or above)
Desirable
Interest in social value or community engagement
Familiarity with social media platforms
Experience using tools such as Canva
Basic understanding of marketing (through education or interest)
