Ready to head into the world of work? An Apprenticeship could be your ideal start to the next phase of your career. You’ll learn about the job, on the job, whilst we support you through further studies, so you’ll gain qualifications as well as work experience and skills.
As a Multi-Trade Apprentice, you will be engaged in a structured training programme designed to develop your practical skills across multiple trades, including electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting and general maintenance. Through a combination of on-the-job experience and classroom-based learning, you will build a strong foundation in maintenance and repair, progressing through defined levels of competency. Working under supervision, you will gain hands-on experience while developing the knowledge and skills required to deliver safe, effective and high-quality work across a range of disciplines.
Key Responsibilities:
Essential: Must have grade C grade or above or equivalent in Math & English
Essential: Must have full UK driving license
Must have own vehicle to travel to and from pick up points or to travel short distances to sites.
Assist skilled tradespeople in plumbing, carpentry and painting
Perform installation, repair, and maintenance of building systems, including doors, windows, flooring, and fixtures
Support masonry, plastering, tiling, roofing, and painting projects as required
Travel to various job sites to provide installation support, inspections, and maintenance services
Follow safety protocols and learn proper trade practices under supervision
Assist in planning, measuring, and preparing materials for projects
Maintain clean and organised work areas and operate hand and power tools safely
Education, Experience and Qualifications:
Willingness to learn multiple trades
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Basic knowledge of tools, materials, and construction techniques
Prior experience in construction and/or repairs advantageous
Strong communication skills and commitment to quality work and customer service
Physical capability to perform manual labor, including lifting, bending, stooping, and working at heights
Training and Progression
Qualification: Multi Trade Apprenticeship Level 3
Duration: 13 to 24 months
Apprenticeships are structured in levels, requiring completion of hours of paid training to achieve certification
Training includes hands-on experience in multiple trades and classroom instruction covering trade theory, safety, and technical skills
On successful completion of the apprenticeship, career progression within Sureserve will be reviewed in line with your new skills and reflected accordingly which may include salary increase and a company van
