Overview of role:
The Electrical Improver will play a key role in ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently, and in line with regulatory standards, including interpreting technical drawings, assisting with inspections, maintaining tools and equipment, and resolving minor electrical issues under supervision. This position is ideally suited to a motivated individual with a strong commitment to health and safety, teamwork, and professional development within a supportive and well‑structured working environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Assisting qualified electricians in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems.
Supporting the testing and inspection of electrical systems to ensure compliance with safety standards.
Reading and interpreting technical drawings and wiring diagrams.
Ensuring all work is carried out in accordance with health and safety regulations.
Maintaining tools and equipment in good working condition.
Collaborating with team members to complete projects efficiently and on schedule.
Troubleshooting and resolving minor electrical issues under supervision.
Education, Experience and Qualifications:
Previous experience in an electrical improver or similar role.
Installation and replacement of light fittings
Emergency light servicing and testing
Basic knowledge of electrical systems and components.
Relevant certifications or training in electrical work (e.g., ECS card or equivalent).
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Good communication skills and a proactive attitude.
A commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and quality.
Strong Written and Verbal Communication
Excellent organisational skills – good time management
Excellent customer service skills
Presentable, professional technician
Full valid UK Driving License
