Our business is going through a sustained period of growth and we have an excellent opportunity for an experienced SHEQ Administrator to join our team in Bathgate.
Key duties & responsibilities
Your primary focus will be the seamless administration of our Health & Safety Management System. Key responsibilities include:
Maintain the H&S Management System folders and oversee Plan spreadsheets, ensuring all outstanding actions are followed up as directed by the Head of SHEQ.
Collate H&S incidents, near misses, and trend reports to help drive safety improvements.
Update local H&S arrangements and policies, ensuring efficient distribution throughout the facility.
Administer H&S alerts, coordinating departmental responses and reporting back to the central team within a 7-day timeframe.
Act as the training records administrator, assisting with course registration and issuing certificates.
Attend and take minutes for all H&S-related meetings, including Water, Fire, Waste Management, and Safety Representative forums.
Proactively notify the Head of SHEQ if risk assessments or actions are not being managed within the required timelines.
Required skills and experience:
You will be a self-motivated individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and possesses the following:
Demonstrable success in a similar role preferably within the Housing, Social Housing or a similar customer-oriented industry.
A solid understanding of Health & Safety legislation and risk issues. An IOSH qualification is highly desirable.
Proficiency in the MS Office suite is essential for managing reports and tracking systems.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, paired with excellent interpersonal abilities to work effectively within a team.
A proactive approach with the ability to manage competing pressures and conflicting priorities effectively.
